[linux-users:107084] Serial ATA (prod) and Parallel ATA (experimental) drivers

こんにちは。松田陽一@三鷹です。

今日になって、 11/29 にカーネル 2.6.19 がリリースされたことを知り
ました。
make oldconfig をして気付いたんですが、従来の
「ATA/ATAPI/MFM/RLL support」の他に、新たに
「Serial ATA (prod) and Parallel ATA (experimental) drivers」
という項目が増えています。

恐らくドライバの設計を変更して移行するのではないかと想像しますが、
この新たなドライバに関する情報をご存知の方はいらっしゃいますか。
具体的には、どの程度安定しているか、ドライバを移行する際の留意点
等です。

なお、現在私はパラレル ATA 、つまり旧来の E-IDE HDD を使ってます。
シリアル ATA HDD はまだ不安定、との話を人づてに聞いており、今の
ところ二の足を踏んでいます。
