[linux-users:83055] gzip による圧縮について

古賀です。

約700MBのデータを圧縮したのですが、
さあー、解凍したら

gunzip: winme.dsk.gz: invalid compressed data--crc error

gunzip: winme.dsk.gz: invalid compressed data--length error
--------------

となり、解凍できません。
データサイズが、ある一定以上だと圧縮できないのでしょうか
(オリジナルデータはもちろん無くなってしまいました)

また、もしgzipより良い圧縮ツールをご存知でしたら
教えてくれませんか
