オンボードSCSIで問題なくインストールできています。
最初に何も考えずにインストールしたときはLIで止まる現象がでました。
で、やったことは：
1.fdiskの情報がおかしかった(64,32,4303)ので、dpramで得た値に変えました。
2.bootdiskで立ち上げ時にboot:のところで、ramdisk aic7xxx=extended
  を記述しました。

以上２点で正常に立ち上がるようになりました。
もしかすると１回ではうまく行かずにインストール後、bootdiskで立ち上げ
liloの再インストールをやったかもしれませんが、変更点は上記２点のみです。

パッケージはSlackware3.4(kernel 2.0.30)です。
(インストール後に2.0.33に入れ換えてます。)

biosは特にいじってません。
私のくせで、defaultに戻しPCI関係をautoにしたりしますが。
