Humm... If your modem pre-installed one, that modem may be "Win-modem". It is used only in Windows, i think. I had have tried to "Win-modem" to connect Inter-net on Turbo-Linux 8.0. In making conf, modem-device was'nt found... But i don't know well about Red Hat...
