To add more consoles to the default 6, edit /etc/inittab, to lines
looking like this:
6:23:respawn:/sbin/getty tty6
.......now append something like:
8:23:respawn:/sbin/getty tty8
9:23:respawn:/sbin/getty tty9
10:23:respawn:/sbin/getty tty10
11:23:respawn:/sbin/getty tty10
12:23:respawn:/sbin/getty tty12
Do not use 7 because it is needed by X.
