+++++++++++++++++++++++ Apache JServ +++++++++++++++++++++++++
George Sexton will present "Apache JServ"
Apache JServ module is an add-in for Apache that allows it to execute
Java Servlet modules. Java Servlet modules developed using Apache JServ
are also compatible with the Sun Java Web server as well. Using Apache
JServ, the full power of the Java Programming language is available to
web developers. This includes robust data access through JDBC.
A simple "HelloWorld" page will be demonstrated. Next, I will
demonstrate integrating simple data access into Java Servlets. Finally
demonstrate a real-world application that uses the PostgreSQL database
and JDBC to provide live database access from the web. All
demonstrations will be done using Apache JServ 1.0b and Apache 1.3.4
running under RedHat Linux 5.2.
A comparison of the pros and cons of using NT/SQL/ASP versus
Linux/Apache JServ/PostgreSQL will also be presented.
Finally, we will have a question & answer session.
