-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Internic.net recently stopped registering ownership of IP
blocks, passing that part of their work onto arin.net.
This means you need to query whois.arin.net for IP block
information and whois.internic.net for domani ownership
information.
Switching between the two is tedious, so I've done a five
minute hack of the sgi whois client to support choosing a
server automatically depending on query type.
This wouldn't be worth announcing in comp.os.linux.* except
that it gives a 'proper' whois command, with '-h server query'
syntax, for Linux, rather than the default fwhois, with the
'query _at_ server' syntax.
I haven't seen a standard whois mentioned for Linux before, and
it's sometimes nice to be consistent.
Source and binary are available at

Cheers,
Steve
