What is sp4si ?
sp4si is a shell script package and will repleces the get.news and put.news
script are included in suck package.
sp4si offers multihostig- and multitaskingable news spool with suck for
your INN news system, it will log all activities and sent reports via email.
What does sp4si ?
- - sp4si is able with a single script run to spool asynchronous all configured
news hosts, optional spool reports will be sent with the result of the spool.
- - sp4si is able to download automatically the active file from each configured
news host, filter the news host active files, generate a new active file
and replace the old acticve file INN conform.
- - sp4si is able to rebuild the suck config files in dependence of each
newsgroups subscribed in user .newsrc file.
- - sp4si is fully replacement for get.news and put.news from suck package.
- - sp4si isn a configuration tool for INN, so INN must be configured manually,
sp4si will make the daily work much easyer as before.
Why and when I need sp4si ?
- - if you often subscribe and unsubscribe many newsgroups
- - if you want to have more control and synopsis about your newssystem and want
to know if the last spool was successfull done.
- - if you want to simple expand your newssystem with more than one newshost
- - if your bandwidth to your newshosts is smaller as your connection speed,
you can spool all hosts parallel and save your time and money.

Was ist sp4si ?
sp4si ist ein Script Paket und soll die get.news und put.news Scripts
die mit Suck ausgeliefert werden ersetzen.
sp4si bietet multihost- und multitaskingf臧igen Newsspool mit Logging
und Spool-Reports Mlichkeit via eMail.
Was kann sp4si und was nicht ?
- - sp4si kann er ein einzigen Script-Aufruf alle konfigurierten Newsserver im
Hintergrund asynchron spoolen. Es knen auf Wunsch Berichte per Mail
an eine belibige Adresse zugestellt werden mit dem Ergebnis des Spools.
- - sp4si kann die active Dateien von den konfigurierten Newsservern
laden, sie filtern und daraus dann eine globale active-Datei generieren
und sie noch INN-komform ersetzen.
- - sp4si kann automatisch die Konfigdateien f suck entsprechend den
in ~/.newsrc bestellten Newsgroups angepasst werden.
- - sp4si ist kein Konfigurationstool f INN, somit mu゜ die INN Konfiguration
weiterhin vorgenommen werden wie bisher, sp4si soll nur die tagt臠liche
Arbeit mit einem Newssystem und dessen Erweiterungen erleichtern.
Warum und wann braucht man sp4si ?
- - wenn INN benutzt und man ter verschiedene Newsgroups bestellt
und wieder abbestellt
- - wenn man mehr Kontrolle darer haben und mehr wissen mhte ob sein
News-System den Spool ordnungsgem葹 abgeschlossen hat
- - wenn man sein News-System unkompliziert erweitern mhte
- - wenn man mehrere News-Server spoolt, die die ワbretragungsbandbreite nicht
voll ausschfen knen und man dadurch auch Zeit (und Geld) verliert
