Japanese Application Suite Enhanced For Students And Schools
ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA -- December 30, 1999 -- Lava Software is now shipping
Japanese WordMage (TM) v5.7, a complete low-cost Japanese application suite
for MacOS, Windows 95/98/NT/2000 and Linux. New features include the 'Kanji
Safari' multiplayer game, interactive storybooks, reading, aural and visual
comprehension exercises, and a powerful new vocabulary import filter. Many
features now support the extended European, Cyrillic and Greek character
sets (in addition to Japanese), making Japanese WordMage also suitable for
students of French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Greek, etc.
All The Applications You Need In One Great Package
Japanese WordMage offers nine highly integrated applications including a
multilingual wordprocessor, a HTML web page editor / viewer, various study
systems with authoring abilities (interactive storybooks, auto-revision
flashcards, the 'Kanji Safari' multiplayer game and reading, aural and
visual comprehension exercises), a powerful Kanji reference dictionary, a
grammar library builder and a text translation aid.
Japanese WordMage does not require Japanese operating system software as it
contains its own multilingual input system, fonts, etc., making it
cost-effective and easy to install and upgrade. It can also be customised to
most European (and other romanised) languages, allowing European schools to
generate custom course materials for their students in their native
language. For example, Swedish-Japanese dictionaries or German-English
comprehension-type exercises can be created in minutes.
Students with laptop computers can now study anywhere, anytime using
Japanese WordMage, whilst teachers can easily create custom course materials
(or import existing materials) which conform exactly to their requirements.
Japanese WordMage also supports the distribution of course materials via the
Internet or school intranet - this can significantly enhance and extend
existing school-based studies and make distance learning and home study
programs much more effective.

The Standard Edition is priced from US$79 and the Professional Edition from
US$149, whilst the Classroom Edition starts at US$179 for a 5-machine
licence (10, 20, 40 and 80-machine license packs are also available).
